Take me back to 1960
Today sees the start of this years London 60s week, celebrating the creativity and freedom found during this wonderful era of the swinging sixties. Participants are invited to look back on the decade and reminisce about all its glory whether it be in the fashion, music or art movements. From the 16th to the 25th of July a number of exhibitions, fairs and shows are are available to see. This includes the story of Radio Caroline, the world's famous offshore radio station, at the British Music Experience in Greenwich all week long, A Frock Me All Vintage 60s fashion fair at the Chelsea town hall on the King's Road on the 18th, Live music all week long notably at the Troubadour. The Eel Pie Club and the Barmy Club in Twickenham is a must, including very special guests from the 60s; Mick Avory of the Kinks and Ali McKenzie of the Birds. It's looking pretty special! Along with other live nights of 60s music, live rock tours, exhibitions and a whole lot of swinging and twisting this celebration is a must see by anyone living in London.
